A nonprofit whose board I serve on is having an event at Art's Camera in Greenfield. For every print/photo-gift order that is placed, tomorrow night and for three weeks after, Art's will make a donation to AWE (Artists Working in Education). I hope some of you will be able to come out and help support AWE!

Lawn-Work (Reel mower, composting, grass wig)

Did a bunch of yard work yesterday with my wife--we tried out our new reel mower (dug it!), completed our cinderblock compost bin, felled the garden and began tearing up some invasive grass. Oh yeah, and I put some of that grass on my head. ;)

Evolution of a Rain Garden Part 11

The summer's nearly gone and our rain garden has done pretty well. As expected, the western side, the most-shaded side is significantly smaller/less dense than the eastern side, but still, we are quite pleased!
